Trust accounts don’t behave like regular bank accounts
Owner funds, tenant deposits, and operating cash sit in the same bank account and have to be tracked separately down to the dollar. When the reconciliation drifts, you don’t find out from your books – you find out from an owner asking where their money went.
We reconcile trust balances against funds held every month, daily for higher door counts, and we keep the supporting documentation organized. So when someone asks, the answer already exists.
